Awhile ago I made a post on how to make homemade laundry detergent. You can read that post here.
In this post I’m going to give you an update of how it has worked for me and what I have changed in the homemade laundry detergent recipe to make it work better for my family.
I have successfully finished the first batch I made months ago. While I did like that recipe and it did leave our clothes clean, it did not leave our clothes with nice fresh clean smell.
I love when you pull your clothes out of the dryer and the smell of fresh clean laundry hits you in the face, as a mom of two boys who love the mud and the dirt there is nothing better than knowing their clothes are clean.
So to get that fresh clean scent in my laundry with this homemade laundry detergent recipe I switched the 1 cup of Dawn dish soap for 1 cup of Tide laundry detergent.
I normally don’t buy Tide laundry detergent because I personally think that it is expensive, but I decided to buy a small bottle to add to the homemade laundry recipe and the expensive bottle is being used slowly as I only use 1 cup per batch of homemade laundry and making my laundry smell wonderful!!
I plan on making a quadruple batch (which will fill two 5 gallon buckets to the top) in the next couple of months as we are expecting our third baby and I want to be ready for all the diaper explosions and all the spit up!
So if you want to join me in making your own homemade laundry detergent check out the recipe here and switch the 1 cup of Dawn dish soap for 1 cup of Tide laundry detergent.
